Chinese Medicine Database
The Great Compendium of Acupuncture & Moxibustion: Zhen Jiu Da Cheng: Volume 1

By YANG Jizhou, translated by Sabine Wilms.

This encyclopedic Ming dynasty work on Acupuncture and Moxibustion is one of THE great classics of Chinese medicine. It is seen as the acumoxa counterpart of the Bencao by Li Shizhen. It is voluminous and complex in nature and has therefore been unavailable to the West until now. This lead volume defines the classical framework of meridian science and offers a selection of quotations related to acupuncture and moxibustion from the Han period classics Huang Di Nei Jing (Inner Classic of the Yellow Emperor) and Nan Jing (Classic of Difficult Issues), with explanations added by Yang Jizhou.

Sabine has taken on the formidable task of rendering this volume into English with passion and expertise and allows Chinese medicine in the West to still have roots of understanding to this creational period of Chinese medicine.
