Chinese Medicine in Australia Survey - Invitation

Dear Chinese Medicine Practitioner

You are invited to participate in a research project entitled, “Chinese medicine in Australia – nature of practice and the perspectives of practitioners”, currently being undertaken by Professor Paul Komesaroff, Dr Kylie O’Brien, and Amber Moore, as part of a PhD project at Monash University.

With the upcoming national regulation of Chinese medicine (CM) in 2012, all Chinese medicine practitioners in Australia will have to adhere to a legislative set of regulations regarding practice and the protection of the public. We are seeking the perspectives of individual Chinese medicine practitioners in order to better understand the nature of their clinical practice and attitudes leading up to this defining time for Chinese medicine in Australia. Aims of this project include – to investigate the nature of the Chinese medicine workforce and clinical practice in Australia, and to explore Chinese medicine practitioner attitudes in eight key areas: clinical practice; evidence in Chinese medicine; registration; education; professional development; professional associations; demographics; and the future of Chinese medicine in Australia.

The study involves the completion of an online or paper survey. It is estimated that the survey will take about 30 minutes to complete. Being in this study is voluntary and you are under no obligation to consent to participate.  All information obtained from this study remains confidential, and no identifiable data will be released to any person, organization or government authority or be published. There is a separate page where you may choose to leave your name and contact details if you would like to participate in a short interview with the researchers. As a thank you for completing the survey, there is also a separate section where you can have an opportunity to win a $50 voucher from Chinabooks.
